Grand Ayat. Makarem offers solutions to uproot ISIS

"There's a great history between the countries of Iran and Hungary since there are no dark moments in our bilateral ties throughout centuries." said Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi.

Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – In a meeting with a group of high-ranking Hungarian officials in the city of Qom on Monday, April 3, Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi, a Shia source of emulation, referred to the constructive bilateral ties between Iran and Hungary throughout history and said, "There are no dark moments in our shared history and our countries have maintained good relations throughout years."

The Shia source of emulation added, "Due to the development of international communications, today's world has become a village. We're all residents of this global village and we need to unite in our resolve to tackle the current global issues and to prosper our society since such joint measures affect the destiny of all of us. Otherwise, if one seeks hostility and discord among nations, the end result would be nothing but chaos and destruction worldwide."

Quoting a sentence from head of Hungarian parliament, the cleric said," During his last visit to Iran, the head of Hungarian parliament asserted that 'terrorism has become an unsolvable problem for Europe.' But we believe there are no such things as unsolvable issues. In order to resolve this problem once and forever, there are some necessary steps that need to be taken. First, we must uproot the underlying doctrine of Takfiri thoughts, then engage in political negotiations and finally confront the terrorists on the battlefields.  If these three major steps are realized correctly, the issue of terrorism will be resolved.

"We've held two international conferences on Takfiri threats in the city of Qom during recent years in which 80 prominent figures from different countries took part. In the final statements of both these conferences, all participants came to an agreement that terrorism has no place in Islam." Said ayatollah Makarem.

The revered source of emulation further said, "ISIS is neither a government nor Islamic and all Muslim scholars agree that such terrorist groups have nothing to do with Islam."

"ISIS terrorists pose a major threat to the whole world, not just the Islamic nations, therefore, all countries must unite and join hands in order to tackle this issue and uproot Takfiri thoughts." Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi concluded.

End.
